Just noticed this post from about a year ago.

Can we say that Bouchard is done?  Or do we need to give it more time?

It's really quite perplexing. She has been playing better this year than last year. The physical talent is clear, and from what I've read the focus, conditioning, and mental fortitude is all there as well, but she can't pull it together.

It's almost like she has the Yips.

17 year old Canadian Denis Shapovalov knocked out 19th ranked Nick Kyrgios at the Rogers Cup in Toronto last night. I believe this is the first ATP level victory for Shapovalov. He recently won the Boys tournament at Wimbledon. He also won the Junior US Open doubles last year and helped Canada to its first ever Junior Davis Cup title.

Shapo might already be as good as Milos.  And might be better by next week.

Shapo is a much more well rounded player than Milos was at that age, and should continue to be as he gets older. Milos' serve is as good as it gets but other aspects of his game are mediocre at best.

Former World #1 Mats Wilander had this to say about Shapovalov:

"It’s like watching a combination of Nadal and Federer at 18-years-old. He has the fire of Nadal and the speed around the court of Nadal and he has the grace of Federer - it’s unbelievable."

Bianca Andreescu battles back from 5-2 down in the second set to win 7-6, 7-5.

She will play Serena Williams on Saturday for the US Open Championship.

She'll need to make Serena run her big ass off on Saturday if she has a chance.  Not sure she can match her if she goes power against power.

She bent, but she didn’t break.

First Canadian ever to win a grand slam.
