Couple of the Marlies' young guys are starting to heat up.

McKegg has 8 points during a 5 game point streak. He has 8 goals, 15 assists, 23 points this season in 31 games. To put that in perspective, he had 23 points in 61 games last year. He's definitely improving, could be a good depth center for the "bottom six" in a year or two.

Josh Leivo has 8 points in 7 games. He's scored 9 goals and added 12 assists for 21 points in 32 games of his first full AHL season.

They'll be led by AHL all-star dangler Pavel Datsyuk TJ Brennan, who did this in the skills competition:

Leafs have signed prospect defenseman Eric Knodel to an ELC that kicks in next season. He's been playing in the NCAA, where he put up 28 points in 41 games. He also signed a PTO with the Marlies for the rest of this year.

FIRST! ;)

Holy fuck the Marlies' roster at forward is jam packed.

Center: McKegg, Carrick, Smith, Gauthier, Holland, Verhaeghe, Smithson

Wings: Leivo, Abbott, Kozun, D'Amigo, Ashton, Broll, Ryan, Biggs, Ross, Marshall, Devane, Herzog

Gotta love that most of those guys' are young, with a shot at developing into pieces that might do well with the Leafs one day.

I'm going to be all negative and bemoan the fact none of them are grade A talent, most won't even make the top 6.
