Edmonton's project cap space for 18-19 is currently only $5M less than this year. With ten fewer players under contract.

I seriously don't get why people think Chiarelli is a good GM. Yes he won a Cup in Boston, but he also left that team in shambles on his way out the door. He basically fell ass backwards into Connor McDavid... so any success that Edmonton reeps in the near future will be a direct result of that one move. He has overpaid guys like Lucic and Russel... he's going to have to pay a shitload for Draisaitl, and he has shipped Taylor Hall, Nail Yakupov, and Jordan Eberle out the door. In return he has Adam Larsson and Ryan Strome.

Chiarelli's MO is selling off good young players at low value.

Reports Former Texas Rangers CEO Chuck Greenberg close to buying Hurricanes for about $500 million

Only makes sense if he's able to move them.

I can't imagine another team making sense in Texas. Austin, Houston, and San Antonio - are all great sport cities, but they hardly handle minor pro hockey teams.

I know there's other great options, but I think Seattle would do very well.

The arena is a major hurdle to clear before hockey is in Seattle.

And the Canes lease at PNC Arena is considered one of the best in the NHL. Unlikely they leave before it expires in 2024.

Also Forbes reports that all Greenberg has is a non-binding letter of intent, and that he hasn't even come close to raising $500M.

Habs have no finish and crappy D that can't move the puck. Their second line is Hudon, Turtle Neck and Lehkonen. If their top line doesn't score two or three a night, they're screwed. Price can't score goals.

If only they had a young, puck-moving defensemen that could also shoot the puck. One that was great in the community and also in the dressing room. Too bad his skin was the wrong colour.

Only allowed to be bigger than the "CH" if you're white Quebecois.
