Damn - right call keeping Sparks. If Mac looked appealing.

Honestly, I'd rather have Mac. Sparks hasn't proven anything except that he can stop AHL pucks. Mac has proven he can play 18 games a year. I'd rather trust him to push it to 23 or 25.

Talk is that once their respective claimaints goalies get back they'll waive their respective claims so the Leafs can eventually get them both back anyway.

If it gets to it I'm sure we can scrape up a backup goalie real easy.

Mac and Pickard will likely be on waivers again in a few weeks. Philly and Carolina both have short term goalie injuries.

If one, or both, are reclaimed they can be assigned directly to the Marlies

He's on pace for 137 goals and 219 points.

Seems attainable.

The breakouts are fucking awful, but its been this way for a while. I dont expect Babcock to change it.

Any chance this Nylander holdout is completely by design?  It's been very quiet and seemingly cordial.  Wondering if there are some sort of loopholes in the CBA that benefit both sides from a late start to the season.  I know there is something where they can front load a bit and have a smaller cap hit later, but I'm wondering if there are more clauses that can be exploited.  Just a thought.

Eamon McAdam will back up Sparks tonight.

I mean, there's no need for lube at this point.

Leafs expect Andersen ready to go on Thursday.

I'll believe it when he's back in net.

Andersen has swelling in his knee. Tweaked it on Saturday.

Isn't sure if he'll be ready to go on Thursday.

James Mirtle reports both sides of the Nylander talks are starting to lean towards a bridge deal.

Lebrun reports Carolina are monitoring the Nylander situation. Reports Brett Pesce could be a trade target if it comes to that.

Just signed a 6 year deal at $4M AAV.

Pesce doesn't really excite me.  Not for Nylander.  I'm sure a bridge deal gets done.
