Apparently he didn't make the team.  It'll be Tellez.

No word on what the confusion is.  Possibly a deal that fell through?

My guess would be they tried to trade Pillar?

That would be the obvious one.

Fingers crossed that Pillar can actually look semi-competent offensively, the defense holds up, and a contender either has underperformance or an injury in CF and a deal can be struck this summer.

Jays lose their home opener 2-0 to Detroit.

That's 8 straight home openers they've lost now.

Kevin Pillar to San Francisco for INF Alen Hanson, RHP Derek Law and RHP Juan De Paula

De Paula is the only name there of intrigue.  21 year old arm that's not close, but has a good arm.  Throws 92-97.  The real motivator was just moving Pillar out to make room for Alford.

...as long as we're talking injuries...

Shoemaker out for the season with a torn ACL in his knee.

Sanchez leaves his last start early with a broken finger nail...again with the finger issues.

Same as that rumour that he was going to debut yesterday.

It'll be soon.

And Vladdy hasn't even gotten into a groove yet.

Holiday Monday afternoon game, Vladdy’s starting to really hit, lefty on the mound.

Scheduled day off.

Could this management group be more out of touch?

They will not be told what to do.

Jays take hulking college power pitcher Alek Manoah.

Mid-high 90s, filthy slider. Walks will be an issue for him.

2nd rounder is a high schooler, right-hander Kendall Williams.

Another big dude who throws hard. Committed to Vanderbilt, so will be a tough sign.
