2nd rounder is a high schooler, right-hander Kendall Williams.

Another big dude who throws hard. Committed to Vanderbilt, so will be a tough sign.

Signs slightly over-slot.

Committed to Vandy? Must be legit then.

Tampa Bay Rays given permission to explore possibility of moving to Montreal on a shared basis. Idea is apparently to start the season in Tampa, then move to Montreal for 2nd half.

Which would seem to be a step toward gradually moving to Montreal entirely once the ownership/stadium issues are figured out.

Nice thought.  But I can't really see this happening though.

Vladdy participating in the home run derby this year and it's gonna be sweet.

Until it fucks him up for the 2nd half.

The idea of people becoming worse hitters after participating in the home run derby is apocryphal. I have no idea how this theory survives.

I don't buy it either, but if he stumbles at all in the 2nd half you'll hear it.

Jays on pace for a brisk 58 wins this season, and still might not be a bottom-5 team.

No one is catching the Orioles....but they have a shot at #2.  They'll need to be pretty bad though.  Detroit and KC are in that mix too.  Miami's been on a heater lately but they have a shot at being Orioles level bad too.

For 2 pitching prospects.  24 year old LHP, Anthony Kay (mid-rotation upside) getting hammered in AAA.  And 18 year old RHP, Simeon-Woods-Richardson (stud upside), but probably 3 years away.

This is not a good return for Stroman.  Atkins shits the bed again.

Expectations were low and they still didnt meet them.

Woods-Richardson seems like a solid prospect, but he's also 18, so who knows how he'll turn out. Intriguing prospect though.

Kay seems like a shit pitcher. Cant keep the ball in the park at the AAA level, good luck against the AL East.

Both these guys seem like they should be secondary prospects in a trade for a guy like Stroman. They didnt get the headliner.

Disgraceful.

It's like Rogers wants to alienate this fanbase so they can finally sell the team...

Decent move.  Hatch is nothing special.  Depth guy, but has the potential to be a useful bullpen piece.  Phelps is an easily replaceable piece this offseason.

Another depth arm.  23 year old RHP in A ball.  60 grade fastball and 60 grade cutter sounds like a potential useful bullpen piece in the future.
