I’ve just decided to not really watch games until the playoffs. I’m starting to wonder if they will even make it.

It's not a lock.

They've been playing mediocre hockey for pretty much all of 2019

They took the Stanley Cup finalists to seven games, and one could argue that if Kadri hadn't been a complete tool, they would have won.

Even without Kadri they carried most of the play 5-on-5. It was special teams that buried them.

Anything can happen in a short series...that doesn't change the fact that their record for this calendar year has not been up to snuff.

Josh Donaldson said it well, "this isn't the 'try league' this is the 'get it done' league."

If it takes them all season to find themselves, fine...but if they get dispatched in the first round again, or worse, miss the playoffs altogether, they can't be afraid to make meaningful changes.  Dermott is an RFA, Mikheyev is an RFA...Their cap situation isn't getting better anytime soon.  They're stuck with this core.  Either the players need to find a way to get it done, or maybe some key changes with the core are necessary.

They didn’t carry the play when it counted. Being clutch matters.

I just don't think they were mediocre in the playoffs last year. They didn't get it done, but they came within inches of beating the team that finished second.

I don’t think inches is a fair metaphor. They showed no killer instinct when it was clutch time. That grit is exactly what’s missing from the Leafs 3 young stars.

Muzzin out tomorrow. Tavares will be gameday decision.

Muzzin's absence listed as "Personal reasons", not the injury he sustained against Washington.

Has anyone seen Shane Corson lately?

Everyone took part in regular practice, in their normal position today.

Tavares, Muzzin, and Hymen all look set to return.

Need to cut two players to add Hyman back on the roster.

Spezza & Marincin would seem to be it.

Hope someone picks up Petan, he deserves a spot somewhere. Hope someone picks up Marincin too, but for different reasons.

1 more needs to go.

Likely Shore, Spezza, or Timashov.

Marner out 4 weeks minimum, so likely high ankle sprain.

That shit lingers.

Well. No cap issues for a while at least.
